The
2008 event will take
place May 17th & 18th
Saturday - 10 A.M to 4 P.M
Sunday - 10 A.M to 3 P.M
The Door County Sheep and Goat
Raisers invite you to attend northeast Wisconsin's oldest fiber event
and sale, the 2008 Door
County Shepherds' Market. The
Market is sponsored by the Door County Sheep and Goat
Raisers and hosted by Whitefish Bay Farm. The Market is held to promote
products from our members' sheep, goats and camelids, and to educate
the public about our animals, the fibers they produce and the
traditional handcrafts that utilize these fibers. All activities will
occur in the granary barn, so come early and enjoy -- whatever Mother
Nature brings in terms of weather. Weather permitting, the flock of
white and naturally colored Corriedale sheep and lambs that call
Whitefish Bay Farm home, will be grazing on the pastures near the
granary barn.
Our
vendors offer a wide selection of
quality fibers and yarns for the discriminating
fiber artist and finished fiber
products for the consumer. The vendors will be spinning and
weaving throughout both
days.
The collection of "Tried and True" Lamb Recipes from
the Door County Sheep and Goat Raisers group will again be for sale
this year. Or purchase from our web site Cookbook
page . This year we will also be selling hand stencilled Shepherds' Market wooden cheese boxes, T-shirts and tote bags.
In addition Rosie Dittman will
have a "hands on" felting
demonstration (outside, under a tent, weather permitting) on
Saturday at 2:00 and Sunday at 11:00 and 1:00
